I have been reading many of your postings since I joined this message board in October 2006 after I was diagnosed with PC. I have done extensive research on prostate cancer and I must commend you for your highly informative responses to everyone, which appear to be carefully thought out and usually quite accurate. Although you have completed your treatment, you are obviously trying to help those who are still pondering what treatment to pursue or have made a decision and are looking for support up to the moment that they undertake their treatment. Keep up the great work! May you be blessed with a undetectable PSA forever!
Cheers!

Thanks PCDave but I truly am just one of the many PC Disciples here on this forum. Yes, my intent is to provide as much relevant information to those unfortunate enough to join the club. I will always remember the day of my diagnosis and that empty and alone feeling. The comfort of others taking the same journey and my faith has brought as much peace as possible. I do not want to influence others in their treatment decision making through being biased about
my own. We may travel different treatment roads in our journeys but all of us are headed to the same destination. As Bluebird continually reminds everyone, “Knowledge is Power”, and it is the weapon that must be used against the beast.
As to moderator I appreciate the confidence in me but right now I am very busy and it takes my vigilance to my commitment to stay active on the forum.
Once again thanks to all those for the support!!

I am impressed with the modesty in your response to my posting--you are a man dedicated to helping humanity! I failed to indicate in my original posting that I have always been impressed with the objectivity and lack of bias in your postings which always offer sound advice and have been helpful to me. I make every effort to do the same. I have elected Proton Therapy because I believe it is best for me. Part of my mission here is to make others more aware of Proton Therapy and then let them do their own research and decide if it is an appropriate treatment for them based on their age, stage of PC and potential negative side effects of this treatment, What concerned me recently was seeing postings from patients who had or were about
to have surgery, and when they heard more about
Proton Therapy they were questioning their choice of surgery. If one has done adequate research before selecting a treatment option, hopefully they will never look back and second guess their choice. I think this is a marvelous message board for those having surgery because it gives them a pretty true picture of what they can expect after surgery. In some ways, I think it influenced my decision not to have surgery at my age, but I never discourage anyone from pursing surgery if it is right for them. If I were younger I may well have opted for surgery. I only wish there were more postings from patients having the various forms of radiation treatment so that we could get the inside scoop on negative side effects, etc., especially a few years down the road. Nevertheless, this is one of the best PC message boards that I have found because it is very active and provides excellent contributions from its members.
