Here are some ideas concerning an enema. I have had major surgery many times and this is what I have learned to do as a prep to surgery. While the biopsy is much less invasive and there are no anesthesia/nausea complications to avoid, there are reasons to follow the same procedure as a clear bowel will facilitate the procedure.
24 to 36 hours before the enema, I switch to a mostly liquid diet. Gatorade, Broth, Milk, maybe a few crackers. This is a full day before recommended. I exercise a lot to encourage natural bowel movements during this time. Then, when you give yourself the enema, it is more cleansing and less of just an induced bowel movement.
It is much easier if someone else gives you the enema. If it is self-administered, get two (They come in twin-packs.) and give yourself an extra 30 minutes in case you miss on the first try or have difficulty. The boxes say they are pre-lubed. HAH! Use more.
Gottes Geistesblitz mit Ihnen!

P.S. Someone once suggested we always greet each other with a Holy kiss...
A little song lyric for you two love birds:
Give me, one kiss to build a dream on, and my imagination will build upon that kiss.
Sweetheart I ask no more than this, a kiss to build a dream on.
Give me one kiss before you leave me and my imagination will feed my hungry heart.
Sweetheart, one thing before we part, a kiss to build a dream on.
When I'm alone with my fancy, I'll dream of you, weavin romances, makin' believe they're true....
Give me, one kiss to build a dream on.....
