Hi everyone, I had the cath out 3 days ago, from day one I have been dry all through the day, with 2 exceptions when I sneezed, and got up quickly, even then only a very small amount, sitting, bending, driving car and walking, all ok, no pads needed during day, but still wearing one at night, ( because I don't trust myself yet) , but even that one is dry.......sure hope this keeps up!!!!!!!

That is amazing. Good for you, Mal, although I think guys like you are the exception more than the rule. Did you do Kegels before surgery?

I'm about 14 weeks post surgery and did away with the pads after 5 weeks, although I still have some stress incontinence that so far, hasn't been an issue. I can usually catch it with a Kegel and still do Kegels  religiously three times a day. There's no way I want to go back to that incessant dripping that I experienced after the catheter was removed.

Hey Mal,

Great going on conquering continence. I had the same experience - threw the pads away the day after the catheter came out. I think it is due to a great surgeon, lots of Kegels before surgery and luck. Anyway we need to let the new guys know that incontinence does not always happen.

All right Mal! I had a very similar experience, I think I just used the pads for the first two or three weeks "just in case". Haven't really had a problem at all. At my last check up my Dr. mentioned that the are learning that the nerve sparing also helps with the incontinence issues. Peace. pete

Nice job, mal! I am getting better each week.  24 days out of surgery, today and  I went back to work this week and am using 1-2 pads at work, and a couple of pads at home each day.  I never really soak them.  Nighttime has always been dry.   'Seems to be improving each day if I can remember to do my Kegels. Idaho

Hi Mal,

You are a 5%er. Only a few guys get that lucky. I would go out right now and buy some Lotto tickets; how could you not win?  Oh yes; after you cash the Mega-Millions jackpot take your doctor out for dinner...el Bulli would be nice.

Hi Mal,

This is really fantastic - my husband was lucky to be the same - never any incontience or leaking, so I celebrate with you and know you would know how fortuate you are too, so just believe it as it can actually happen, and it can last. My husband is living proof of that too - very good news and hope it lasts - just take it extremely easy despite this, I suggest. cheers,
