Hi War-eagle
Don't think for a minute that your post offended me. I love the use of humour as a way of getting through tough times - and also just for making life more enjoyable. Please don't fear that your humour makes you or your postings trivial; your caring and compassionate nature shines through in buckets!
What I really meant was that quite a few people act like prostate cancer is 'the good one' and that we should 'get a grip' because there are people with much more serious illnesses. In fact my husband has, like some others on this board (maybe you too?) an aggressive cancer which has spread extensively. We are uncertain how he will respond to the hormone treatment and for how long it will be effective. It's the same for everyone, I know, but of course we worry due to the aggressiveness.
However, we are positive and upbeat about the whole thing (most of the time) and life is, peculiarly, just as it always was. My husband is a massive football fan (soccer to you) and enjoys watching all kinds of sport. He has a very physical, outdoors job which keeps him fit as a fiddle and he loves his girls (our daughters, 16 + 18) to bits.
I love drama, both teaching and performing, and can really understand your love of singing - it's a great release and must give you so much inner peace.
I'm so sorry you're having to go through all this but it sounds like you have a fantastic attitude and that is totally the X factor in beating this I'm sure
My best wishes to you and yours
Julia
