Good morning Hagrid,

I echo what Lee says. You are very important to all of us here. I just read your post to Faith and I must say for a guy who says he was not a very "spiritual guy", I could hear you preaching, brother. It's always best to leave the driving to someone else. Everytime I try to take the wheel I seem to put the bus in the ditch. So I don't try to drive my life any more. You made a great choice in turning things over to the Lord. Your post to me yesterday did so much to lift me from the pit I found myself in. I am out of the pit today and I'm going fill it up so I won't go there again. Thanks.

Please share more with us about your journey. Nine years of Hope and Faith can do so much here.

God be with you and your family each and every day. Life is good.

My story is full of miracles, a real live Angel, and LIVING!

For now, I have a ditch to dig for my Angel's garden light. :)

Hi Hagrid,

A warm welcome to you. Yes, please stay. Your story is inspirational and so many of us here are still so raw (ourselves included) - I am also long-winded sometimes, but I think your words would be so helpful to so many here. I'll get my words together.

One thing I'd also like to share with folks about to go into surgery is my experience post-surgery. Dealing with my catheter, elevating the head of my bed so it drained properly, my problems with clotting in the catheter (had to visit the emergency room the first night after getting out of my prostate surgery for an "irrigation"), holding the bag for proper drainage, etc. What helped me get a good night's sleep with that darn tube. My angel helped by buying me a roll of white cotton towels (like shop towels) that I used for leakage when I shifted positions. More on this later, if anyone is interested..

Wish I knew then what I learned the hard way. I got pretty good at dealing with the catheter, then they yanked it out. Hopefully my experiences in that regard can prepare others.
