Starting radiotherapy in 4 weeks

Hi everyone, went to see the Radiation Onocologist yesterday, he said obviously that some cells have been left behind after the surgery, he said in his experience the remaining cells usually are located in the prostate bed, and has recommended a 6weeks daily course of radiation to that area, he also gave me a 70% chance of killing all the cells in that area.

Sooo...here we go on another leg of this journey...wish me luck.

Good luck to you Maldugs, I just today finished 7 weeks of IMRT Novalis shaped beam therapy, 35 treatments. I had no problems at all with the treatments, takes about 15 minutes once you get in the room and on the table. I like Tony (tc las vegas) had positive margin's and some invasion of the seminal vesicle so I like you was told that I needed some additional adjuvant therapy to kill any residual cells that may have been retained in the prostate bed. Hope yours goes as well as mine....jwb
