I was wondering why this forum is so quiet?  Gluten intolerance and Celiac disease is such a popular topic and I hear that so many people have questions and suggestions, yet no one seems to contribute.  Just wondering if it was that I have been asking too many questions?

It's not you. I think it is just the fact that this is a relatively new addition to HealingWell. That and the fact that rl is taken me away for the last few months.

I just joined this forum to chat about ulcerative colitis, which is a very active topic right now!  I thought I'd chat about celiac too (since I probably have it, and my mom definitely has it), and was surprised how few posts there are here.  But if it's a reatively new section of this board, it'll take a while to get a regular following.  There are lots of people out there somewhere, living gluten-free.  :)

Well, as a Newbie, nobody says "hello" when you make yourself known as a new member. Maybe the Mods could check out the crohn's section. They warmly welcome the newbies. I joined mostly for the crohns as my daughter was having difficulty. and I will check in here, but,I for one will participate regardless, but for others maybe they would benefit from some warmthaand acknowledgement... you asked, I gave my humble opinion<smile> buffy

Ok. It's not just me.  I was wondering the same thing.  The UC forum seems much more warm and welcoming and the replies are full of information.  Perhaps one of us can post an OT thread on the UC forum and get some responses?

This Celiac group is a relatively new forum. Another reason might be mistaken diagnoses which is easily done because many doctors don't believe food affects digestive disorders. God knows how many with simple Celiac have been diagnosed with ulcerative colitis and Crohn's.


The UC forum seems much more warm and welcoming and the replies are full of information

The moderators on the UC forum are exceptionally open-minded which allows good sharing of information while at the same time keeping out spammers. Some of the other forums are not so lucky to have moderators who are so open-minded.

Hmm you are so right. I just posted a topic hoping for some information but no responses. It was read by many but no one helps out or responds..not even a little!! It is hard for me to believe that no one knows the answer to my post and they just choose to read and ignore. Why bother having this forum at all?

Tinlou Im new to this forum as well, but have answered a few posts. i scan for posts with 0-1 response and then reply to those to let the poster know they are not alone on here and people really do care. Its really important for us on here to support, inform, and care for one another! ;)
