Jen, it sounds like in your case, that you may have gluten sensitivity. And even small amounts of gluten may cause severe reactions, according to my ND. I did multiple types of testing for gluten sensitivity and celiac and all came back negative, except for my saliva test, which indicated 15 out of 30 (a positive for gluten intolerance).
I would advise you to try out the GF diet for a bit, and that includes eliminating ALL things gluten.
So cosmetics, soy sauce and oatmeal, all of which contain gluten (without mentioning it). Good luck to you.
I started going GF in may, and have had great success with it.
what do you mean by this: "except for my saliva test, which indicated 15 out of 30 (a positive for gluten intolerance)"? when we all got saliva tested, the doctor said it was either negative or positive. our scores were:
husband 18 (borderline 13-15 positive >15)
me 12 (and that's with me being almost totally gf for 3 years! and having only a slice of pizza, a 1/2 bagel, and 3 pieces of general tso's chicken the 2 weeks before the test!)
son 8
what do you think? thanks!
