Hello,
I've been very confused about the two diseases. Can somebody help me please..
Four months ago, I went to see a GI. After undergoing both endoscopy and colonoscopy, I was diagnosed with both GERD and Ulcerative Colitis. I have ulcers on my entire colon. I was not surprised. For the past two years, I've been bloating, constipating, diarrheal, lost 5 pounds, and I think I'm allergic to gluten or cow milk or something. That never happened before.
My doctor prescribed me:
1. Nexium 20 mg
2. Mucosta 100mg
3. Salofalk 500 mg, now down to 250 mg, since my M2PK test is now below 4. But I don't know now, I'm bloating again.
4. Budenofalk (I dont use it anymore, the M2PK is down).
5. Rillus - a non dairy probiotic
I try to eat granola bar to ease my GERD. After a few days, my hands and feet are tingling. I stopped eating it.
I can't digest whole vegetables. Vegetables will go out as vegetables in my stool. It looks like my digestive enzyme is not properly functioned. is this normal for people with UC?
While searching on diet menus, I bumped into this page, scdlifestyle.com. I read about celiac disease. I think I may have that. I do have a diabetic gene in my family. My father has it, my grandma has it. Most of my family has it. Does it mean I'm prone to celiac disease?
How do I know if my UC is caused by celiac disease? Or is it pure UC?
I know that I have to run some test first. But, for the past two years, I've been eating gluten like crazy. All that cakes and ice cream.
Now I'm on a diet. I still don't know what I should or shouldn't eat. But this is an overview of my diet:
1. Breakfast:
- 7 dates (ajwa dates)
- scrambled eggs
- 1 slice of bread
- rice milk (sometimes)
- a banana
2. Lunch:
I don't bring meal to work, so I eat from restaurants menus that include:
- roast/broiled chicken
- salmon steak
- rice
- little vegetables, sometimes just celery juice (water only).
3. Dinner:
-Chicken Hainan Rice
-Banana
-Apple
Is it ok for me to eat raw fruit like apple or banana?
Is it ok for me to eat cooked vegetables? or does it have to be slowcooked, like a carrot puree?
Thank you so much for your help..
I'm really desperate. But I really want to get better..
