Reading most of the posts on here my problems seem small in comparison, but I don't know where else to turn. This is my first post here.
I've been told my thyroid levels are normal and had an ultrasound 2 years ago that said the isthmus of my thyroid was thickened. Last year I got sudden pain in both my knees and when they finally did tests 3 months after the pain started there were signs of OA on x-rays and my vitamin D was low. I was sent to an awful rhuematologist who very rudely told me I am too young (I'm 29) to have OA and my vitamin D level wasn't low enough to give me the pain I was having. So, I left thinking okay maybe it's in my head. By the summer the pain had gone all over and had gotten to a point I was having excruciating pain going down stairs, it is the worst in my kness and elbows, but I get it in almost all my joints. My doctor sent me to a different rhuematologist who is very kind, but can't find my problem. He was concerned about the size of my thyroid so he sent me in for another ultrasound which showed that my thyroid has grown but there are no masses. They called and told me this and that there is nothing wrong with me and to wait until my appt. in February to talk to my doctor. My bloodwork was done last March and was normal, so I'm going to try to have it done again in February. I have been having a lot of the thyroid symptoms: tired, feeling a lump in my throat, joint pain, anxiety/depression, feeling cold all the time, and I'm sure there are more that I'm not thinking of.
I guess getting to the point, my question is has anyone gone through anything similar before they were diagnosed with a thyroid problem? Right now I'm so frustrated because my knees feel like they could explode and they haven't given me any reason yet and now my other symptoms are getting worse and no one is listening. Thanks in advance to anyone who reads this and can sympathize!
