I have had pretty severe Hypothyroidism for almost 10 years. My T4 has always been very low and my TSH sky high(over a 100 a few times). I recieved my last 5 labs because I am seeing a new PCP and I am behind in my labs(haven't had them drawn since February). Also, I have an appointment with an Endocrinologist in September so I wanted to be informed. I am always symptomatic even the few times my Thyroid has been under control but I noticed that my February labs were different. My TSH and my T4 were high. This doesn't make sense to me. I have no faith in my old PCP that she had any idea what she was doing anyway. Has anyone experienced this?

I wonder if you are not converting T4 into T3 very well. Do you know your free T3 number and range?

That's the thing. I havent' had my Free T3 or Antibodies checked in years. I insisted on an Endocrinologist appointment,obviously they were not running the necessary tests.

It may be that simple and cytomel or armour may help. But, good that you are seeing and endo he should be able to figure things out.

The other thing that comes to mind is hyprepituitary but that is pretty rare.

I have heard good things about both. I don't see the Endo until the end of next month but I see my new PCP and am going to ask him to run more labs, Free T3,Free T4,TSH,antibodies....

I had my labs drawn through my new PCP. It was found that it is Hashimotos,my TPO AB was 500. I am currently Hyperthyroid,so he changed my dose from 112MCG of Levothyroxine to 100 of Synthroid,no generic. It also showed Anemia. I am also now seeing a Cardiologist because of my fast heart rate and Arrhythmia that was diagnosed by EKG.
