Allergy to cellulose coating on medicines
A few years ago I realised I was stronly allergic to cellulose. I was taking my medicine for my thyroid when suddenly the coating on the pill was changed and I had adverse reactions...my doctor did not want to believe me at first but I decided to stop the pill for a few days and the allergic reaction stopped...When I compared the 2 pills I realised that it was the cellulose in the inactive ingredients...
Since then I have realised that I was not the only one.
I must add that the adverse effects were most frightening. In addition to the rash on my body I had cerebral effects. My head felt heavy and I lay down incapable of moving...until I decided to stop the medication...My doctor eventually realised that I was right and gave me Euthyrox instead...
