I have not heard of this link. I do have Hashimoto’s, autoimmune Chronic Gastritis and celiac disease. I have experienced bouts of hives (lasting for about
six months) after a gluten exposure which exasperates my Hashimoto’s (elevated my thyroid antibodies). I have learned that autoimmune disorders are connected and you can have more than one.
My antibodies were in the thousands, but are now under 300. I have never seen them in the normal range (but they are only repeated when I am pretty ill) and I have had Hashimoto’s for over 20 years. However, my thyroid nodules and enlargement are gone. My thyroid is permanently destroyed and I take thyroid replacement.
I hope you figure this skin condition out or in time, maybe it will resolve as your immune system recovers from Lyme. This is kind of out there, but look into the Autoimmune Paleo Diet. Scripps in San Diego tested this diet (tiny study) on Inflammatory Bowel Disease Patients. They achieved a 78% remission within six weeks based on lab biomarkers. They are now testing Hashimoto’s patients. Also know that Hashimoto’s, celiac disease and Type 1 diabetes are strongly linked.
