Back in July 2018, I fainted. My heart rate went high, and has since to return to normal. Upon seeing doctor after doctor, it was later determined that I have Crohn's disease. But my heart rate continued to stay high. Then in December I started to feel shaky, and my heart rate went really high. I now feel weak and constantly fatigued and light headed. Not to mention my heart rate is still high. I mentioned it to my GI, who referred me to a cardiologist, but they thought it was just anxiety. But now I am wondering about hyperthyroidism, since my most of my symptoms are consistent with that. I am going to bring it up to my GI, but I was wondering if anyone else has experienced similar feelings?

Hi kitten,

You need to ask your doctor to order thyroid function test, it includes TSH, FT4 and FT3, in addition the thyroid antibodies TGab, TPOab and TSI, Once you have it you can know whether it is graves or not !

Hyperthyroidism can cause increased heart rate so yes it is possible that you have hyper.

Strangely enough I have too had these symptoms for years but tests came back normal for me

Just falling within normal reference range is frequently not enough, if you have an autoimmune thyroiditis then having borderline high or low TSH can still cause symptoms.
