Hi All,
My name is Michelle. I first posted on the Lyme board and then the MS board. I have symptoms that are similar to both diseases, but I think I have something unique that could indicate thyroid or another autoimmune disease (see below).
Here goes:
September 1983: Diagnosed with allergy to cold (rain-drops, snow, cold water at beach and pool) and pressure (elastic, tight clothing, shoes, etc). I seemed to outgrow this by my early twenties.
October 1993: Bell's Palsy- left side of face paralyzed for 3 weeks.
In March 2009, I had a full physical done with blood results for all levels, including Thyroid (2.36), Cholestorol, blood counts, vitamins, etc.
In April 2009: I suddenly became EXTREMELY sensative to the sun (not heat).
In August 2009: Numbness on left side from shoulder to foot. New blood results- abnormal ranges for Vitamin D (makes sense because I've avoided the sun all summer). Cholestorol is up 60 points and is now just one point under the high-limit; Thyroid is at 4.86 (on a scale of .45 to 4.5). MRI shows 5 lesions- 4 on brain and 1 on spine. All small. Lyme test negative.
Let me know what you make of this. Please be honest because I just want to get to the bottom of my illness and also figure out what type of doctors to see. Currently, I am seeing a nuerologist and will have a spinal tap this week. Should I see an endochronolgist too? I am also seeing a Lyme expert this week too. Thanks for your help :)
Michelle
