Well just got a call from my doctor with the results of new Lab work before any medication said TSH was 0.922 down from 5.060 on 9/23 and that I should cut the synthroid form .50 to .25 no other explanation how does it go from 5.060 to 0.922 without medication?  I do not want to take synthroid if I do not have to and my next appointment for a ultra-sound is not until 11/11.  Has this happened to anyone else?

Your doctor shouldn't cut your synthroid based on a TSH level. If so, find another doctor because your's clearly doesn't know anything about proper thyroid testing. Tell your doctor you want a free t3 and free t4 test done before changing your dosage. If those come back normal and you feel normal, there is no reason to change your dosage. If they are high, then yes, you will need to drop your dosage. TSH just tells you what the pituitary gland is doing.

You definitely need to be retested with a full panel. If your first test was less than three months ago, there was almost certainly a lab error on one of the tests. If not, then you need to be fully diagnosed. In order to do this you should have TSH, free T4 & T3 as well as thyroid antibodies.

What do you mean by that ? you say that the result before any medication is 0.922 down from 5.060 and that your doctor recommends to cut of your synthroid by half, can you explain that, please ?
