I have had loose stools and palpitations for the last 3 weeks. I was sure it had to be my thyroid but my test came back normal. Could it still be this or are the tests pretty reliable?
Thanks

It depends on your doctor's view of "normal". Some doctors think normal TSH is up to 5.0.
Your TSH levels need to stay below 3.0. Anything over is cause for concern.
If you have GERD it can cause these issues, too. Talk with your doctor.

Those are symptoms of having too much thyroid. I take thyroid, and I've just started taking the next lowest dose, because I'm having hyperthyroid symptoms. Dry eyes, anxiety, heart palpitations, headaches that cause my eyes to feel like they're being pulled from behind. Migraine type visual disturbances with painful eyes, body pain, Elevated blood pressure, Dizziness and vertigo.
Hang in there. It's hard to get normalized sometimes. If you keep having heart palpitations, tell your doctor. If they don't listen, go to someone else.
I didn't realize I was having hyper symptoms until I was put on Inderal LA for the headaches and the BP issue. After taking the medicine for 3 days, I started to feel pretty good. I read that Inderal blocks symptoms of hyperthyroidism, then read what they were. I have a friend who is a doctor, and I discussed this with him. He said he thought I was hyper also.
The doctor took my blood and I had a TSH of .84 I guess it's too low for me, and I didn't realize it. I've felt bad for so long, I've become accustomed to it.
I'm so tired of Doctors not realizing what's going on with us.

It's a guessing game for many of them when it comes to our thyroids.
