Hi, y'all. I've been off and on in the chronic pain forum, but this is my first time over here. A month or so ago, I went for my annual exam, and my PA thought that the symptoms that I thought were perimenopausal could possibly be Hashimoto's, so she tested for the antibodies. (I've been tested every year for thyroid levels, but not antibodies.) Besides a Vitamin D deficiency, they also found both thyroid antibodies, so I went to see an endocrinologist last week. She said that yes, I do have Hashimoto's, but that it is sub-clinical at this point, and my symptoms probably really are perimenopausal. Yippee skip.
The one symptom that is not consistent w/ permimenopause (AKAIK, anyway) is sore throat. It's not raw or anything like that. I teach two days a week, and, by the end of the day, my throat is tired and achy (for lack of a better term). Some days, when I don't teach, it's the same way.
Could this be Hashi's, or is it something else? I have an appointment with endo at the end of November (once I finish my monster Vitamin D therapy), and she has a whole lot of bloodwork planned for the week before my appt. I guess I'm wondering if I should just wait to talk to her, or should I call my primary care dr? Thoughts? Anyone? Bueller?
