I recently took a blood test that informed me that my thyroid levels were a little off. After a week or so I noticed that my eye on the right side was dilated a bit more than the other one. I especially noticed it after looking at a computer screen for a while then going to check.
I went to an optomistrist who said the inside of my eye looked to be fine as well as the outside and that it might be normal and we just never noticed it. (She did mention I keep an eye on it though). My right eyeball recently though has had sort of a pressure the last few days and I've noticed I've developed sort of a twitch recently. I'm going in to see an actual thyroid doctor on June 7th but in the mean time I'm curious if anyone else has had this issue or if I should I go to another dr to get checked for something else.
I've read the two big issues with this problem involve brain tumors and thyroidism. I assume since I have thyroid issues I should follow that lead first to see where it takes me.
My eyes contract perfectly fine with bright lights like sunlight or lightbulbs. Its usually dim light or computer light when this issue shows up. I also do not normally get it during the morning when I wake up. It usually develops about
2-3 hours later. Today was the first time Ive gotten headaches from this problem but it seems to be getting worse not better. I have noticed that at times my eyes are perfectly even and at others its so bad I see little fuzzies and my twitch makes me want to keep my eye closed shut.
Edit: Symptoms
Dilated right pupil at random times
Twitch randomly during the day
Pressure on eyeball and sensitive to touch
Sometimes slight vision blurring but only noticeable on small text
