Graves' disease

Hi,
I'm Amanda, I'm 22 (female) and I was just diagnosed with Hyperthyroidism. I have been through a few blood tests as well an a thyroid ultrasound. I am going in for a thyroid uptake test next week and then a biopsy. The only thing that has been confusing my doctors is that I have been gaining weight instead if losing. Has anyone else had this problem and do you know why?

I have Graves disease which was successfully treated with radioactive iodine. I had all the symptoms of hyperthyroidism, including a gradual weight loss of more than 20 pounds over time. Weight loss is the norm with Graves, so is it possible there's something else causing your gain?
