Synthroid dosing

Im hypothyroid, but feel much better if my TSH is in the 3's. I was told if my bloodwork was 2 or lower, we would drop my synthroid from 100mcg to 88. I received the call that my level was 2.0, but was told to stay on the 100 for 6 days and take half a tablet on the 7th day. This seems like odd dosing to me and was not what we had discussed the previous day. I am a cardiac patient and have pulmonary issues as well. Im to return in 10 weeks for a lab follow up. Should I just go with this and see what happens in 10 weeks or call the Dr to clarify exactly why she has completely changed her mind on what she told me...Im completely confused and don't know what I should do. Is this unusual dosing?

I'd call to clarify. You were told your dose would be decreased 12%, then they decreased it by 50%? Yeah, you need to be sure this is the real recommendation.

Synthroid has a long half-life, so most people don't have any problems if today's dose is 5 mcg more or less than yesterdays; if you do, then 75 and 50 mcg doses are available also.
