Hi everyone! I'm new to this forum and would like your opinion about my situation...
I am a 38 year old female with many medical issues and I'm trying to figure out what is causing all of this...
I am a high school teacher (for over 13 years now) and am currently on sick leave because I can't function at an acceptable level to be able to care for the teenagers in my classes... I was sent home on sick leave for burnout on April 23 of this year. To this day, I still feel down and no energy...
Here are my symptoms:
-extreme fatigue with days like today where I have energy but I know that I will be paying for it tomorrow...
-I fall asleep everywhere and anywhere after 6pm
-extreme diharrea daily (liquid and all kinds of colours)
-extremely loud bowel sounds all day long (and sometimes painful)
-tremor, jittiness (was told I had ADHD)
-irregular skipping heartbeats and sometimes very fast even when in bed
-can't sleep more than a couple of hours at a time..wake up in sweats often
-night sweats
-mental fogginess, scatter brain (feeling like my brain goes on stall)
-can't concentrate long enough to complete anything
-forgetfulness when before I had an amazing memory
-extreme lower back pain and hip pains shooting down in my knees
-always hot (can't put my hands on my lap when sitting down because I overheat within minutes)
-always need to move - can't sit still for more than 5 minutes because my mind wanders and my back and hips hurt way too much
-husband tells me I choke when I exhale in my sleep and wake up a lot... I wake myself up too...
-easily out of breath when just doing chores around the house or talking on the phone
-swallowing is getting harder and my voice is changing - cough a lot
Here are the surgeries I had done over the years:
-burned myself to the third degree when I was 1... had a skin graft
-kidney stones in 1997, 2012 and one right now in my right kidney
-removal of my appendix in oct 2012 only to find out I had a large neuroendocrine carcinoid tumor in it (6.5 cm!)
-removal of 8 inches of my colon in dec 2012 to remove infected lymph nodes
-2 lymph nodes had metastatis cells
-ct scans every 6 months and consults with an oncologist - all results came back negative for now
-nodule was found on my thyroid around 1995 and emptied and all came back ok...it was a cyst
-ultrasound was done on my thryoid because they saw calcification on the big nuclear scan for cancer screening done in dec 2012 (all came back normal, no tumors)
-3 nodules were found on my thyroid, one of which is of concern...appt with ENT on Dec. 16 of this year
-sleep test was done on Nov 17 - waiting for results
-MRI was done for my back and all my lumbar disks have issues (thorn or buldging with some mild bone degeneration) - have tried physio but not working very well
-blood work was done and a couple of results were high but that's it.... TSH was at 1.45
-I'm taking some meds... naproxen, cipralex, baclofen, tamsulosin, T3 with codeine and hydromorphone for now
So I guess my question for everyone is could this be hyperthyroidism?? When I read up on symptoms, I see that I seem to switch from hyper to hypo symptoms... All my doctors are telling me that it's not the cancer that is making me feel like crap it's something else but nobody can find the cause of my pain. Also, My dad passed away when he was 28 of heart failure and had many kidney stones (10 in 8 years) and many masses removed from his abdomen... now we don't know what those were and the autopsy only said that he died of a heart attack of unknown causation.... we have many ailments that run in the family also...too long to list lol!
Thanks very much everyone for your input!! :D
have yourselves an awesome day!! :D
