Spots on thyroid

In March of 2013 I had a car accident, I ended up strapped to a spine board for 4 1/2 hours. During a ct scan they did to check my neck they discovered a spot on my Thyroid. I had an ultrasound done a while after to check and it turned out I had three small spots/cysts. They just recommended I get another ultrasound done in 2 years to check, my doctor actually said he would recommend it in a year instead to check for any growth or anything. At that time they did blood work and the Thyroid blood work was perfect. Anyone have any sort of experience with this sort of thing?
