Hi
Im a 32 yo female and I have a 6 month old baby. In the last couple of months, I have found out my TSH is at 9.76. They attributed this to my pregnancy despite this result coming in when my baby was 5 months old.
I started on a weight loss drug called Duromine which is pretty much synthetic speed the moment I stopped breastfeeding which I am pretty sure is the only reason I am still up and running. I had a day off it yesterday and I could barely move. The doctor has been talking about
FNA via ultrasound but keeps waiting on the next tsh result.
I initially went to him with that dry horrid cough. Now for the last two weeks my throat is hurting so much and I have excrutiating ear aches day and night which I have read can ve referred pain. I have had enough and booked another appointment for tomorrow with the doctor because my little boy is missing out on a playful mummy.
Please what can I do to alleviate the symptoms in the meantime and what can I do to get my doctor to get things happening? I have to go back to work in 2 weeks time and I am beginning to panic.
Thanks in advance.

After six months, I'd ask for a referral to an endocrinologist. It may take a few months to get things back to normal once you're started on treatment, so the sooner you can be evaluated by a specialist, the better.
