I'm currently in a quest to being diagnosed with this rare and bizarre disease. Being tested on the 6th by my Endocrinologist. Am positive, without a doubt that this is what I have. Was dx with Hypothyroidism in May of last year then told it was Hashimoto's Thyroiditis. I basically now swing between the two, hypo and hyper.
My head pressure has baffled all my doctors and me, until I stumbled upon H.E. Some days it literally feels like I am having a stroke and only by chance did I notice that taking Prednisone relieved my symptoms. Not by a lot, but it makes it somewhat manageable. My question is for those who have been diagnosed with this insidious disease. Did you get the horrible stroke like episodes? They used to only last a few hours and would only be every other day. However, I find them to now be constant.
They never leave me be. The numbness around my head is just as uncomfortable as the pressure that could only be compared to feeling like a giant is squishing my head between his hands. It's unbearable. It's debilitating. It's inhuman. I often walk around in a daze, wondering how I am still alive when it clearly feels as though I will die from the awfulness of it all.
Does anything relieve the head pressure? I've applied Frankincense oil with a tbsp. of carrier oil and massaged in on the base of my neck. It helps the episodes, but only by a little. Am currently on 4mg of Prednisone by my own doing because not taking Prednisone feels like a death wish. I would greatly appreciate any advice or input anyone has on this. Thank you.
