I had a cardiac ablation 10 days ago to correct AFib...heart now back in rhythm. In going down my esophagus prior to the ablation, 2 nodules were found on thyroid. I was told by cardiologist to give my PCD the radiologist report on the nodules just so PCD could follow up. So I did have thyroid bloodwork done and was told my readings were high and PCD suspects Hashimoto's disease...also said I was hyper.
At this time I have no numbers to share and I am having a thyroid uptake in about 10 days. I take no meds for thyroid and I do have a family history. We now wait for scan and I have an apt with an endocrinologist coming up. My question is how can one be hyper with Hashimoto's disease? I thought it was categorized as a hypothyroid problem.
My symptoms have been fatigue, low energy, night sweats, tremor in hands, AFib, Insomnia and weight loss..Thyroid probs can also affect heart rhythm so doctors will have to figure out if thyroid prob will diminish since heart presently in rhythm.
Any thoughts on this? It seems rather complicated to me due to the AFib and thyroid problem sharing the same symptoms. Everything has come at once!
