Your T3 should optimally be in the upper quartile, not just normal. There is a big difference. I found this helpful, as well as the link on interpreting your lab results:

I have recently switched to Armour (contains T3 with the T4) from levethyroxine, and feel almost 100% better, better than I have for 3 years. I have Hashi's but have friends who have hypothroidism and take Armour, as well.
Keep doing your homework. You are your best advocate. Doctors don't know everything there is to know. I've had to educate a few along the way these past 3 years, persuading them to allow me to try Armour after confronting them with research, and to up my dose until I felt well, even though my lab results said all was "normal".
