Hi all. First time writing in this forum, although I have written in the migraine headache forum numerous times over the past few years. Long story short- 23 y/o F that has been very very ill with a constant 24/7 headache for 3 years. I have tried everything.. until now. I worked with a very thorough pediatric endocrinologist who sent me for more blood work, a thyroid ultrasound and the uptake scan. Results show most likely Hacrapoxicosis, and concur with almost all my symptoms- heat intolerance, anxiety, depression, insomnia, fast heart rate, palpitations, always starving and can't gain weight. Hacrapoxicosis is transient, and I understand it basally starts out as "hyper"thyroidism (hence all my symptoms) until it finally turns into "hypo"thyroidism.
Anyway, I am extremely new to this. Anyone else out there have similar issues (constant headache and a thyroid disorder)? or the same diagnosis which is so rare? My Endo & Naturopath are going to work together to make a treatment plan for me. I will start super super low with Methimazole (like 1/2 of a 5mg pill a day for a week because i am extremely sensitive to meds), along with some natural remedies.
Any help, support, or even thoughts on where to find the best support group would mean a lot. I'm nervous to start the Methimazole as I haven't been able to tolerate one medication yet, for anything. I don't have a facebook though. thanks.
