Hello - I'm looking for some advice here. I went to my doctor for something unrelated, but he ran several tests including my calcium levels. He sent me all the results and told me they all looked good. When I was looking over them I noticed my calcium level was 10.8 and flagged as high. Do I need to contact him and ask him about this? I'm 30 years old (female) and from what I am reading is that it's high and should be looked into.
I don't want to come across as the crazy patient, but I also don't want something to get overlooked.

Dear agrey,

Can you please provide the reference range of the calcium test ?

There are many reasons for the calcium to be high, one example that I know about is the parathyroid, you can ask your doctor regarding testing for the PTH.

Do you take Vitamin D ?

The range is 8.4-10.5 and my test showed as 10.8. I don't take any Vitamin D or any other vitamins/supplements.
I don't know if it matters but they tested TSH as well with a range of 0.27-4.20 and mine came back as 0.74.

Dear agrey,

Yout TSH test results might be normal for one with no autoimmune thyroid disease, but if you have thyroid related symptoms then you can ask your doctor to test for thyroid anti bodies to see whether you have hashi or graves, and if so then your TSH a little bit toward a hyper side.

Regarding calcium I do not know, it is a bit above range but I can not recommend any thing rather than testing for PTH ( parathyroid hormone) .
