I know nothing about the thyroid

Recently I had a test that indicated that my PTH was 15. For the previous five years it had been about 50. My doctor said it was not a problem.

I am now experiencing significant heart palpitations (pounding and skipping). I wonder if there is any connection between the lower parathyroid numbers and my increased heart palpitations.

I see some anecdotal information tying hypothyroidism and palpitations. Can anyone comment on this?

I am a 76 year old male currently taking meds for high blood pressure, cholesterol and triglycerides. Prostate cancer survivor radiation in 2015.

Thank you..I am just trying to confirm or eliminate possible cause. BP is well controlled but looking at recent med change.

The parathyroid came up only because of the new test numbers. Is it unusual for the pth to drop to 15 after five years of being 50?
