Hi I'm usually on the Rheumatoid site but i am looking for some Thyroid advice
i have had Terrible increasing Fatigue and Dr was saying it is the RA
But i was going thru my past test results preparing to see a new Rheumatologist ( i have alot of old test results) and i found an ultra sound done 9 Yes 9 years Ago that appears to have gone un-noticed
it states i have " Diffuse Thyroid Disease "
i have a Doctor appointment next week so will take it with me but has anyone any ideas ?

Hi BadDay, this forum runs pretty slow unfortunately. I am not sure if you are seeing your GP or Rheumatologist next week. My husband has some thyroid issues & he see's an endocrinologist. If this were me, I would ask for a referral to one. You are going to have to start all over with testing since your testing was so long ago. Sadly, but now a days we have to get copies of our records, especially any labs or testing, besides advocating for the best care we can find.

I do hope you will let us know what happens with this. But, seriously push for a referral to an endocrinologist, this is their specialty.

You can Google your question, but it can mean that your thyroid is enlarged, nodules, cancer, or not functioning. You should get some thyroid antibodies testing most likely and include a complete thyroid panel.

Once you have one autoimmune disorder, you can have more develop. Take care!

Thank You yes seeing my local Doctor on Monday
I have Googled and Hashimotos hypothyroid seem to be Me I also found an old report saying Hypothyroid this was one of the reasons I changed my doctor years ago as I was getting tests done but never having them followed up but this Doctor is very good so I think he will jump on it.
I would like to let you know how I get on if that's ok - need all the support I can get
ive had RA for over 25 years now and its all getting a bit much

I have Hashimoto’s (dx 20 years ago) Celiac Disease (dx 5 years) and Chronic Autoimmune Gastritis (dx less than a year). I see you have Osteoporosis (like me). Mine was attributed to celiac disease. I have had a few vertebrae fractures. I was only anemic when I was diagnosed with celiac disease. You should consider getting screened for celiac diseare. An easy blood test, but you must be on a full gluten diet.

I hope just taking some thyroid hormone replacement will help with your fatigue if it is not functioning. At least rule Hashimoto’s out. I hate that doctors tend to label you and then can overlook new issues.

Hi I had my Doctor visit & showed him the old ultrasound result he has sent me for blood tests and antibodies test . so I guess now I just wait

Hope he is doing TSH, FT3 and FT4 in addition to the antibodies.

Bad Day, the waiting on the test results is awful. I am not a very patient person when it comes to test results, lol. I am so glad that you are getting things checked out so you will know where you stand with all of this. Please keep us posted.
