I was just recently diagnosed with Hashimotos, Fortunately, my thyroid is still functioning correctly so for the moment, no medication for me. For now, my doctor wants me to repeat blood tests yearly or sooner if I start having symptoms of hypothyroidism. My question is, does the level of Thyroid Peroxidase antibodies have any effect on your chances of developing hypothyroidism in the future. I've been tested twice, 6 months apart and my levels were 406 & then 446. Just wondering if my chances of developing hypothyroidism increase as my number of antibodies increases.
Thanks in advance !
