I just had to share this with someone that will understand the sheer JOY I felt today when I had a completely normal BM for the first time in 5 months! I practically started to weep in the bathroom, no joke (and not for the reasons I usually want to sob in the bathroom! These are things one simply cannot tell most people in your life and get the desired response...LOL. There is no way they could ever understand how incredibly happy I am right now and why! LOL. I knew you would all get it. It's a good day. Thanks for letting me share. tongue

Congrats! I am so jealous....its been about 8 months for me....hopefully things will get under control for me soon! I totally understand your complete happiness!!! :)

That's awesome! I had my first normal BM in 4 months on Christmas Eve (after being hospitalized) and now I'm 3 weeks normal and counting. I can't tell you how excited I am! I totally broke down in tears too at the sight of a normal poo! Congrats.

That's a good sign you're on the right track. I remember how excited I was when my periods finally started again after two years of being extremely ill.

I had normal poop about 6 months ago....wow the things we take for granted... now that i think of it, normal poop hurt because it felt like the size of a telephone pole in relation to "d" and string poop.

Its pretty funny to talk about poop.

I am sitting chuckling at my desk!  I do remember the first real sold poop.  mbx5 I do remember it hurting also and still do sometimes!  Haha!!  Hope it continues!

LOL...you are all too funny! I especially liked Judy's suggestion of taking a picture and framing it. :) Yup, we are a strange lot chatting about poop! Boy it sure feels good to be understood, doesn't it??! Well, thanks everyone and I too hope this is a sign of good health ahead. Happy wishes for good poops to one and all! :P Thanks for the laughs.

Sandra, I would really appreciate knowing what type of Probiotics you are taking. I;ve had ulcerative proctitis for years and control flare ups with Mesalamine enemas. Recently I am only in remission for 6 to 8 weeks before I am back to getting lots of blood after a bowl movement. There are so many choices of Probiotics so I'm hoping that someone with proctitis vs colitis will experience results closer to what I am looking for. It seems to make sense to use caplets that are enteric coated, like the fish oil I take. How many tablets per day are you taking? Any suggestions from others in the same situation would also be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hi Ken. Actually, I'm struggling a bit with the probiotic decision myself at the moment. Right now I am taking Natural Factors Double Strength Acidophilus and Bifidus but I'm not sure if there's one that would be more effective. I take 2 capsules per day (morning and night). I can't seem to get complete remission for any period of time either and I'm thinking perhaps a different probiotic would help too.

Sandra,  Thanks for the quick response.  I guess it will be trial and error until something works.  Congratulations on your recent success,  hope it continues.  I'll report back once I see what results I get from the probiotics regiment.
