Hi Puglover,
Just chiming in my 2 cents about anti depressants.. I have been on Effexor XR for about 3 years now... It did help me at first, but I do believe now that if I had just stuck it out and tried dealing with things they would have worked out anyways. I don't know your particular situation, but unless you are truly depressed, I would stay as far away from anti depressants as possible. I have tried to get off Effexor Xr 4 times, and have been un-successful.. the withdrawl side effects are HORRID and it can make you very sick ( it did me, all four times so I went back on it ) ANd, I was trying to taper off... I guess what might help is if you do decide to go on something, just try and keep it at a low dose and for as short a time as possible.. that might make it easier to stop taking it should you ever want to.
I would suggest doing some research online, it sure opened my eyes... but for me it was too late. Sorry to be so dreary sounding, but that is my experience and my case only... I am sure there are many people who have benefited immensly from AD's and in their case it was probably a life-saver drug..
I guess I'm just saying to be careful, and make sure it's something you really really REALLY need..
Good luck!
