So yesterday I went to work, and started feeling a little crampy, nothing too unusual though. Then around 11am the heartburn started followed by diarrhea (with small amounts of blood) every 15 minutes or so. Once I started vomiting around 12:30pm I decided it was definitely time to go home. I spent the rest of the night mostly curled up in a blanket with cold chills, terrible body aches like there were knives stuck in every joint, 102 degree fever, nausea, and stomach pain that went from the bottom of my ribs all the way down and through to my back. Eventually I gave up and took some NyQuil and went to bed. This morning I woke up and decided I was not feeling well enough to go to work which I have never once done in the whole two years I've been at this current job. I couldn't stand up or walk around without getting exhausted and my fever was still there.
It's 5pm now and overall I feel mostly better, but when I tried to eat something (some rice, first thing I've eaten since Monday morning) the stomach pain started right up and quickly developed into possibly the worst heart burn I've ever had. It's right in my stomach above my navel and radiating up into my chest and it feels like I swallowed a gallon of hydrochloric acid.
I called my doctor to see if they thought I should get some bloodwork done but they never called back. I thought I had the flu but this is no flu... Gastroenteritis/colitis flaring maybe? Any tips on how to calm this heart burn down?? I drank a few shots of Pepto but it hasn't even phased it.
On the plus side, I lost 5 lbs from all the vomiting and diarrhea! Hah.
