New here - traveling with Rowasa?

Greetings:
What a wonderful resource this is. I am new to the forum but not to UC -- I've had it for over 30 years. At anyrate, I am in the middle of a flare after being in pretty good remission for 3 or so years. I am traveling to Israel and want to know if anyone has experience taking rowasa enemas through security? I would just pack in my checked luggage but if something happens to them I am sunk!!

I leave the bottles in the plastic holder that comes in the box and then put that in a ziplock bag with the printed RX label that is on the outside of the box (the one with your name and the name of the RX...).  I've never had trouble.

I don't use them so I feel like I am a bit hypocritical chiming in but I am a firm believer that ALL medicines should go in the carry on. That being said, you are going to have to declare them and have them inspected that way. I would call your local airport and ask what the procedure is to have a private bag checking. I flew last month and saw two people ask if they could declare their medication in private. It will slow your trip through security but may lessen your embarassment. On the other hand, if you have had UC for years and don't care who knows it, just put them in your carry on and declare them as you go through. Those around you will hear but unless you are questioned you can just say "these are prescribed medications" which w/ your valid rx label will make them exempt from the ounces rule. At that point if they ask you any further questions just say "can we talk about this privately"...

Thanks to all who replied. I took all of your advise -- I packed some, checked some, got a letter from my doctor listing all of my meds, I also put the enemas in a clear bag with the rx label included AND i alerted the tsa agent that I had liquid medicine -- the up shot I sailed through the check.
