I'm planning on leaving for a road trip with some friends on Friday to head to DC (from Michigan). I'm currently not having any major problems with my UC but I am still very nervous about
the whole trip. I don't want to have to stop frequently, or have to go #2 in gas station bath rooms! And i'm also on a low residue diet, so fast food is not an option, and other food choice is very limited. Does anyone have any suggestions for a happy healthy road trip? I plan on bringing alot of my own snacks to munch on and keep in our hotel room for the week as well. Any good UC friendly places to eat when in DC? And words of encourgment are appreciated! I just decided I had to go, your only in college once, and i should live out some of those experiences UC already hinders so much of my outgoing personality and college life!

That sounds like a fun trip! I love DC. I have lots of girlfriends from college that live in that area. I definitely recommend packing your own snacks. I do that when I travel. I would also have some imodium handy for emergencies. Keep some wet wipes & hand sanitizer in case you have to use the gas station potty. I prefer the fast food restaurant potty myself...ha ha.
Oh and don't forget your meds!

Definitely liquid Immodium.I don't blame you for not wanting to use public bathrooms, but.... I've gone plenty of times on the side of the road, no joke. And try not to worry- that'll make it worse! Have fun!

I'm worrying about
the same thing right now... Next week I'm leaving Iowa and driving to Florida and I know it's going to be so nerve wracking. Plus I have my dog so I won't be able to stop and eat at restaurants, so fast food will have to do... Luckily my dad is always stopping for bathroom breaks as well but it's going to really extend the time for the trip!
I just plan on taking a bottle of Immodium with me and listening to music and trying to stay as calm as possible because my stomach really acts up when I'm nervous.

thanks for the advice!
~ediekristen- have a wonderful trip as well!! My stomach really acts up when I'm nervous too.
Luckly all my friends know and understand my condition which helps out alot, but then we go back to the "can you eat this or that etc." but it will be fun.
