I agree last year that brought in great speakers I am banking on that again for this year.

I saw Dr. Mahadevan last year too, she was great. My notes from her pregnancy lecture are still on here somewhere. Merideth, you can use the google search above and look for UC and Pregnancy. I will even try to bring my notes from last year with me in case i do run into anyone interested.

The nurse who gave me my fist remicade infusion today (yeah!) goes every year and is bringing her brother in law who was just dx'd with chrons. Small world.

Thanks Kelly and Erica,

I think I will go to the symposium. After reading that NY Times article that Loren wrote about UC, I know I need to change my attitude about all this and talking to and seeing others(versus just googling info) will be of help. I will look for you both! I will definitely stop by the U of C table to commiserate about my old dr leaving to go to the Mayo Clinic..

Hi Meredith!

My doctor left ot go to Mayo too last year (Dr. Kane) and I was quite sad about it....I have stayed in touch withher and it seems that she is doing really well up there.  Now I go to Dr. Rubin at U of C and I have been extremely happy with the transition.  Like Dr. Kane he is extremely passionate about his job and dedicated to his patients.

Erica--

Dr. Kane was my Dr. as well, I should have stayed wtih someone at U of C, but my focus at the time was to find someone a bit closer as I have a one year old I stay home with and I was flaring as well and so I see Dr. Brown at Rush...I miss Dr. Kane! She was the best to have during pregnancy..anyway, I'll look for you. I'll definitely be at the 'Female Factor' session.

I sent Dr. Kane a going a really late going away gift and in her thank you note she told me how much she misses Thai food and thin crust pizza. I guess she will just have to come back down here!

I will be helping at the University of Chicago Medical Center's table in between the breaks so look out for the long haired red head.
