On that same note, I never eat anything before I workout, all I have is my chamomile tea first thing in the am and then once my gut has settled down (within a couple of hours of getting up) then I do my workout...for me the thought of working out with food in there goes against my "gut instincts" LOL! Then when I'm done I usually have my yogurt smoothie to kick start my day for food energy.

I'm not advocating eating a big meal right before you work out, but a small, balanced meal of proteins, carbs and healthy fat is good an hour or so before heavy weight training. Cardio's a different thing - particularly if the big goal is fat loss. And fasted cardio first thing in the a.m. can be good for fat loss, too, although there's some debate about
possible muscle loss if you overdo it.
Ya, I know you're not saying eat a big meal, I justfeel better not eating anything at all because after I eat even something small I just don't want to work-out, it might be more of a mental thing for me...but it's likely alot to do with when I eat it seems to trigger a BM so in order to have a break-free work-out, I eat after I'm done working out...this works best for me.
