I just pick up my pre-colonoscopy kit, my god this thing is insane.  I can't believe I have to drink two who giant bottles of this stuff + clear liquids afterward.  What happened to little salty drink (Fleet?) 

Does this stuff really work so much better?

Heheh, I had to take MoviPrep for my 2nd to last colonoscopy. Nasty, nasty stuff. Like lemon flavored sea water mixed with oil. I'm sorry. However, I managed to only finish one bottle of the stuff and my c-scope went fine.

I had the movi-prep for my scope in February and ugh! I am so sorry you've got to take it! My GI told me that fleets wasn't good for UC sufferers, which is why he prescribed the moviprep instead. I didn't get a chance to ask him why, but I guess there is something in the fleets phosphosoda that is more irritating to an IBD-bothered gut.

I was told by a GI friend that Fleet is the subject of numerous lawsuits that claims the treatments can cause kidney failure. Try googling FLEET PHOSPHO SODA LITIGATION.

Blech, you poor thing! I haven't had to do the MoviPrep but it sounds awful. Actually any prep for a sigmoid or colonoscopy sucks! Just think you'll be drugged soon and this will all be over! lol.

well the first time I went through this in 2005 I was in the ICU at a hospital, vommiting with low hemoglobin.

So nothing can ever be as bad as that. I'll be glad 24 hours from now when I can eat again.

just finished the second one, I dont' know how I haven't puked it back up. Drinking it is worse than the actual 'effect'

Well I survived my colonoscopry this morning, no polyps but some inflammation on the left side.

I am tapering down my pred starting today and will be getting my first remicade infusion in the next week or two!

A piece of advice for anyone using Moviprep - Make the stuff up and refrigerate it and get it as cold as you possibly can. When you measure out each dose, suck on 3 or 4 of the sour lemonhead candies and then spit them out right as soon as they start to get sweet (the white inside part) and then drink down the Moviprep very quickly, holding your breath. Wash it down with sweet iced tea. It's nasty stuff and this is the absolute only way I could stomach it. If you allow it to sit and get the slightest bit above freezing cold, the taste comes back with a vengeance. Drink it fast. The stronger, the better, for the tea, too. It seems to wash out the nasty salty goat spit flavor of the Moviprep.

Yes, there is an incredible difference between cold MoviPrep and well not cold. You want it really chilled.

I will always ask for the OsmoPrep pills...I can't stand the liquids

Well thx everyone, now I'm really looking forward to my Moviprep!  And here I thought it meant I got to eat popcorn...no such luck, eh?  Thursday's the prep day, Friday's the test.  I go thru this every two years...hopefully this will go fine.....

Just starting reading this topic......all I can say about Movi-Prep is: In 2007 my GI Dr prescribed Osmo-Prep to be taken with Gatorade(ick)....I took 20 pills and nothing happened.....then I called the Dr and he said take a whole bottle of Magnesium Citrate...well nothing happened so then I called the Dr back and I had to use an Enema....and still NOTHING...........................

In 1998 I had to drink a WHOLE GALLON of GoLytely........

Now time for another Colonoscopy...and I asked for the Movi-Prep vs. the Trilyte solution....I hope all goes well on Labor Day.....this is a split dosing....1/2 on Monday...1/2 on Tuesday Morning....... I can't stand Gatorade to begin with...and drinking a WHOLE GALLON of that crap is so much worse....and my friend....she was whiniing about drinking the phoso-soda.........

I just did the Movi Prep last week and it wasn't that bad. I cut up a lime into wedges and sucked the juice out before and after each glass of the liquid, which I gulped down in one shot. It wasn't great but it got the job done. I was a little nauseous after the second bottle but didn't vomit, so I was pleased about that. The Phosphasoda, which they took off the market because it was hard on the kidneys, used to make me sicker even though there was a lot less to drink. It just hit like a rock! Hopefully, they'll come up with something better one of these days.
