When i went in for my 2nd infusion i was asked lots of questions about
my health and had to fill out a check list to say i hadnt had any infections / coughing etc etc
they did say that certain things were allowed . i.e for crohns / colitis they expect to see abdominal pain / diareah etc and so if i ticked those boxes it would still be ok
but anything else ticked i would have been sent away , and as a final test they asked me to do a urine sample to check for infections . i guess if you ring the infusion centre / dept they will tell you
i was surprised to have the urine test done , as it was never mentioned to me before
and i was worried i would get sent away as i had already put the infusion off by 10 days due to a throat infection / course of antibiotics .
my 1st infusion was done whilst i had a cold but i was admitted as a casulty patient and they said that i needed the infliximab regardless of having a cold .not sure what they would do for flu , it might not be great for everyone else in the ward / area if you go in whilst you are ill . saying that when it comes to our health who can blame us for not wanting to wait
