It really bothers me when I go into a stall only to discover pee on the seat; I have to waste time wiping it off with toilet paper before I can do my stuff...it really bothers me...why don't us guys use the urinals isn't that why they're there?

anyone else experience this?

I experience that ALL the time... And I'm a girl!!! There's always pee on the seat or even worse sometimes there's blood or other things... I just don't get it. And I certainly wouldn't want to see what their bathroom looks like at home if they can't even clean up after themselves. Nothing is more frustrating than having an emergency and having to stop and wipe off the seat or change stalls.

I once went into a ladies' room where there were little signs on the inside of the stall doors. They said:

"If you sprinkle when you tinkle,
Be a sweetie
Wipe the seatie."

I always wonder if those people are as nasty at home as they are in public restrooms.

Even us females have that problem. Some women pee standing up to not catch germs and they make a mess, or at least that's why I think that happens??! Yeah, it's totally gross.

ya, us females do experience that problem too, huh?  I guess some people haven't heard the o'l "Don't bother standing over the seat, the crabs in here can jump 10 feet"  redface .  That's all fine and well if they don't want to sit, I don't blame them, I don't either, at least not before lining the seat with t.p.. but at least they should clean up after themselves............... yeah

I ALWAYS wipe down public seats before I use them.

I do as well, even if it doesn't look like there's anything there. NOTHING is worse than sitting down on a public toilet seat in a haste and realizing it's wet :(

I got a gross sore where my butt meets my leg once after sitting on a pee covered toilet seat in public. The doc said it was fine and gave me a cream but totally grossed me out.

When I worked corrections we had two toilets in each pod for the residents. The boys designated one the number one toilet and one the number two toilet. I really didn't get it all and one day asked them why they did that. It was so they wouldn't have to sit in each others pee when they had to sit. How clever.

Yes, gross! I hate walking into a stall only to find that someone has left it a mess - didn't do a second flush when needed, didn't wipe down the seat when they were done, etc. Really people?!?!?! Ewww!

Raise the lid, pants around ankles, feet up on the edges of the rim and squat. Works like a champ, but probably not for the heavies.

As much as I hate to go in public, my reality is that I have to go in public a lot.  Most all restrooms have wet or dry pee on the seats...its fricking nasty.  Not to mention poop, curly hairs, used TP, etc.  In some mens rooms I have seen the art work of some talent that use their poop as crayons and spell stuff on the walls with it.  I have seen wiped paper on the floor.  I have seen poop smeared all over the TP dispenser, pee all over the floor, explosion projectile poop all over the back of the toilet and wall.  Clogged toilets that have been pooped in 3-4 times since the original clog....flooding on the floor....with a big swirlie on top...  I have seen it all in my 14 years of UC.  Ever seen the movie Trainspotting?  I have seen those toilets too.  People are filthy slobs and unfortunately our disease forces us to have to endure their disregard for others.

Honestly when nature calls on the road I am much happier hitting a private tree in the woods than a crap covered stall with every bacteria and STD known to man floating around on every surface!!

Sorry for the rant but this is a sour subject for me!

i have seen some pretty nasty stuff too, working at grocery stores and retail you see some pretty bad stuff. We had one where there was poo on the ceiling.  I have no idea how that happened, don't want to know.

Anyway, here is something i figured out to do.  Since i have an ostomy the smell can be a little stronger, so i was trying to think of something i coudl do to help kill the smell, well you know those little bottles of spray breath freshners, like bianca? they are really small and will fit in your pocket.  Well, they have a pretty high concentration of alchol in them, which means not only do they kill the smell, they kill the germs! so when i get in a public batrhoom, i just spray it on the seat, then wipe it off with some tp, then the seat is at least somewhat cleaner.  and as long as you spray it before you make the smell, it hides it really well.

I worked as a housekeeper in a hotel for a summer, and have also run into some extremely disgusting bathrooms. It's amazing how gross some people can leave a bathroom after only staying in the room for one night. Good thing I left for college after that summer, because I don't think I would have lasted at that job for much longer.

i give the seat a good wipe with some toilet paper then either double line the seat with tp or prefer to use the paper towels for hands as they are thicker and always give a quick courtesy flush out of courtesy for myself after i do my business :) i guess one good thing about uc is pre-uc i would sit and sit some more smelling the wonderful aromas, now i just squat and give er a quick flush and voila im done!!
