stopping remicade - has anyone done it?

hi...my GI and I both believe remicade is dong little for me. has anyone had any experiences with stopping it? I've asked this in the past here, but noone seems to ever comment...

I HAD 3 TEATMENTS AND THEY DIDNT SEEM TO HELP TOO MUCH...SO MY DR JUST STOPPED IT, NO PROBLEMS THAT I CAN REMEMBER, BUT IT HAS BEEN 5 YRS..

As far as I know, there's no need to taper. You can just stop, and if it isn't helping there wouldn't seem to be any reason to continue.

i stopped it but i would suggest that you get the antibody test to see if you have antibodies built up from it. if you do, then you definately need to stop. i'm on humira now. too soon to say if it's helped or not.

i stopped it when it wasnt' working, i didnt' taper or anything, and i don't remember any withdrawal or anything like that.

I quit it and I got some energy back and all my joint pains went away. BUT, 1 month later, I started a bad flare :(

I had 4 treatments a couple years ago and stopped and went to 6 mp. No problems.
