kidney stone??

I have been having some sharp pain in the middle of my abdomin (pelvic area?) and I was thinking it seemed different than colitis cramps and then the pain was enormous and shot all the way to the end of my urinary tract...this last sharp pain only lasted a few seconds. the pain went away for now but it has been coming back on and off and now I just experienced this.I have not had any blood or major pain urinating. does this sound like a kidney stone? is this common in colitis and is it serious?

I had a kidney stone last year and some of the symptoms sound like it, but some don't. I am someone who has never really been bothered by pain. I've broken my nose and didn't even realize it (thought it was just a bloody nose). When I had my kidney stones I collapsed to the ground in pain. I was close to crying. I went to the hospital and ended up spending 3 days in there. I was on a morphine drip to where I could give myself more once every 10 minutes. For the most part I wouldn't use it at all. After having to go to the bathroom though I pretty much mashed that button for 3 hours straight. So, basically, the part where you say you had no major pain after urinating makes me think it's something different, but I'm not doctor.

Kidney stones usually come with very severe back pain. Have you had any of that?

Also, are you male or female? If female, it could be a possible ovarian cyst. If either male or female, there is always the possibility of nephritis or something along those lines.

I agree that it could possiblly be a ovarian cyst. I suffer from them chronically. If it is close to ovulation time, u could have just popped a follicle which causes that type of pain, but then should taper off as the day goes on. If u still have it tomarrow, get to a doc. good luck

i am male and the pain has been continuous but it was just one time where it was unbearable for a few seconds. i have noticed alot of back discomfort but not really pain or shooting pain. i have dealt with the colitis pain but this is different it is in the pelvic area and itts just a different pain altogether and it comes and goes...

LOL, sorry about the ovarian cysts!!!

maybe a kidney stone also, i have had 3 of those to...once i did not have severe pain w/ it. go get it checked out if it bugs u for a bit...
