new to this forum.I found it when googling symptoms.

I'm a 22 year old. For the past 2.5 months I've been having really annoying symptoms which have been:

Very urgent bowel movement in morning upon awakening which is normal most of the time.

More bowel movments follow which tend to be smaller in caliber, continous urge to defecate throughout the day with very little output

Later in day bright blood streaked globs of mucus and some stool

I had a flexible sigmoidoscopy done and nothing was found but hemrhoids

need help plz

Hi..welcome to the forum. It sounds as though the bleeding could be hemorrhoids (if you have been checked out) with you also having IBS and constipation.

Have you seen a gastroenterolotgist (GI specialist) or an anorectal surgeon?

Are you on any medications at this time?

Do you drink?

Do you smoke?

What other medical maladies do you have?

What is your daily intake food-wise like?

Are you male or female?

Not that we can diagnose on here....but more information can help with suggestions.

Could be leaning towards IBS, especially if they did not find any inflammation/polyps/ulcers during your scope...then again, you only had a sigmoid and not a colonoscopy, you should probably have that along with a small bowel follow through as there are 2 types of IBD (inflammatory bowel disease) CD, which can affect the entire GI tract from mouth to anus and UC which is limited to the colon/rectom.

This sucks..still have same symptoms for five months. urgency, frequent small movments, rectal fullness, occasional blood & mucus
This is probably gonna be a life long condition.

Best to get to see another GI....was it a GI or a surgeon who did the sig-scope?

You definitely need to see a new GI. If you do have IBD, it will likely only get worse and be harder to bring under control the longer you wait. You need a colonoscopy, not just a flexible sig. Bleeding is never normal, and needs to be investigated.
