Remicade, Humira the same?

Sami22 - Humira, although a biologic like Remicade, is not the same thing. These are protein based therapies, and the reaction your daughter had was most likely her body's reaction to the appearance of the Remicade protein in her blood stream.

Humira is however different to Remicade as it is purely human in origin, there are no mouse protein sequences in it. As such, it is often tolerated much better, and research is showing that those who do not respond or respond badly to Remicade, often do well on Humira.

My Daughter tried Humira, a nurse came out and will show you how to give shots.Her doctor said for insurance purposes they had to claim my daughter had chrons/colitis, because it wasn't approved for Colitis,no idea how true this is.She started with 4shots,2shots then 1shot thereafter every 2 weeks.I hope you have good luck with this.We were told this is different than Remicade, like stated above.We tried alot of different meds,but no luck,My daughter decided to have surgery and we are anxiously waiting for to come Home.I wish you the best of luck.
