Haven't been on in quite some time and have been in remission for many years now.
The reason for my remission has been because I am smoking up to 10 cigarettes per day. As soon as I stop UC returns to rear it's ugly head.
I've been doing much research on Spirulina and started taking it about
2 months ago so I'm up to 8 grams per day. There seems to be many indications that it can help deter UC so I'm gradually reducing smoking while on Spirulina to see if it can help because I hate smoking. My poops are a nice green colour and no blood yet. I also take psyllium fibre every night. I'm down to 2 cigarettes per day and still in remission.
For those unfamiliar with it it is a cyanobacteria (also known as blue-green algae) that grows in small lakes.
When I first started taking it it gave me a bit of a fever and headaches but that is a normal first reaction so I continued. It's made a few changes to my body ... I have a great deal more energy and my skin has become very healthy looking.
I will update this in about
a month when I have stopped smoking and have been on Spirulina for a few weeks after quitting.
Has anyone tried Spirulina for a long period?

I have taken Spirulina but stopped because I read that it may not be a good idea to take since it strengthens your immune system which would make your UC even worse. So I decided to stop taking it but I think i'll try it again.. nothing to lose.
