IgG Test - Worth it?

Can anyone comment on the outcome of an IgG test i.e. did it help you? - I would have to pay for it myself. I have Distal UC.

The test i;m thinking of does a quick check to see if you are allergic to ay foods and the 2nd stage tests you against 113 food types. It's about £260 all together or £20 if the quick test shows nothing.

I had this done with my naturopathic doctor and he told me up front health insurance wouldn't pay for it. Other chemistry tests he wanted me to get done that would be covered he suggested I have ordered though by my regular doctor (and I did, no problem), so he was sensitive to the cost issue. The food sensitivity testing was $300, and I found out a lot and my lingering flare up has resolved in just two weeks of avoiding identified foods. Most important, I found I was highly intolerant to gluten (sorry to everyone who keeps hearing this from me), but also sensitive to soy, tomato, garlic, cow's milk, sunflower, watermelon, a few others...it has been challenging to find things to eat but SO worth it! I feel better than I have felt in years. DO IT!!

HI I'm in the UK - I think I would have to pay for it myself. There is a chance the National Health may pay for it nut it's not normally done.

That said for £260 I could afford it I just wanted to check it was not a waste of time.

I think I'll go for it, I've got a GP appointment in 2 days I'll ask my GP if he says no I'll pay for it myself. I'm also trying to persuade him to give me a prescription for VSL3 which I believe is on prescription in the UK now.
