I wish WOW Age of Conan and this new Warhammer would all DIE. They give husbands reasons to ignore their wives and freaking ruin relationships. grrrr

they seem to be a bit better now... although mornings are still pretty horrible. It doesn't help that he's now emailing with this stupid woman he plays with on Age of Conan.

I swear he's on it from the time he gets home from work to bedtime and then gets up to check the forums. I am going crazy. I give up on stopping him... I give up on quality time.

Just FYI......Gaming ruined my 20+yr marriage. And it was my wife who was gaming.

At one stage there were 3 'boys' hopelessly addicted to WOW in the house. At the moment however, the interest has waned slightly. It did however give me something in common with my two sons which i thought was a posative. One of my son's friends who also plays told me that he wished his father played too!

i'm really sorry and surprised that 'computer gaming' has ruined so many relationships. I have never heard of a woman going overboard before. How about your UC? What is happening with that at the moment?

Sorry your marriage is in shambles we went through a very very rough patch for months main caurse was paint balling which he did every spare minuite so at least he's at home now( just saving the world as i call it most nights) hope you can work things out , i'm turning the kids toyroom into a calm room for me at the moment so then i will have my own special place when they take over the living room good luck

My name is Brian and im addicted to WOW.

There should be support group for us. Even tho its a great way to pass the time when UC excacerbates and feel like crapping all the time. Its a great escape from the everyday drag of work routine. I just cant watch tv all the time like my wife does, she watches so many shows that the DVR can handle. She has her hobby and i have mine. I would rather sit and play WOW than have to watch 99.9% of whats on the TV (ther are exceptions, like House, History Channel, Food Network). Its alot more exciting to be in the action moving ur character around than to just watch it on tv. Escpecially when you play online with others.  

my name is steph and im also addicted to WOW. so is my husband.
he spends every waking moment (while at home) playing, so instead of giving him wife 'aggro', i decided to join him.
the first time he asked me to play his toon and level his daggers (about 4 years ago now) i told him it was time to buy a 2nd computer.
so i had a 2nd computer built and now we play together. he sits in the office with me and his comp is right next to mine and we have a blast.
we were always close, but now we have this and it keeps us spending lots of time together.
i never liked computer games at all, but WOW is freakin AWESOME!!!!

my husband and i are guild masters of THE DREAD, on the oceanic server jube'thos.
we have 243 members and we have vent and raid together all the time. we talk like old friends and interact together. its great, especially when you cant go out much due to this disease. everyone is nice, if not we g'kick them. (LOL)
i made our guild a website (since im a web designer) and we have forums and i always (in the middle of work) find myself on them.

we even met up with a bunch of them that live locally and went out for drinks. meet lots of nice people, use your brain and it beats mindlessly watching TV. we even read in time magazine that a guy who was a guild master in WOW got a CEO position over 6 other shortlisted people solely because he was a guild master. we have to organise and lead people and delegate and get the right classes together to successfully raid.
its good for the mind and i recommend everyone try it!

with all that being said (yea yea, sorry for gettin carried away), we still always go out and walk on the beach, or fish, or go out to eat and hang out with friends. we never pass up going out. but when we are here, its just too fun!

i have 3 toons and my level 70 is all epic'd out! i luv it.
its so fun and easy to get into.
we have a few girls in our guild as well. not just for guys.
and it has kept us in touch with all our friends that live all over the world and those still in san diego since we moved to australia.
its like we never stopped hangin out. (well kinda)
i know why everyone is addicted. its like a drug.

and all you wives and husbands giving your partners 'aggro', dont be too too mad until you try it yourself. plus they (we) really can't help ourselves. hehe.

but sweetmelody, im not in anyway condoning what your husband is doing. that crosses the line really, especially with sex emails.
emailing and chatting about the game (with a male or female) is one thing, but what he's doing is something not right at all.

anyhoo, yes, i am addicted and it has been a real savior since having this disease. if not for WOW i would have spent the last 2 years staring at the walls (when not on the toilet) or watching crap on TV.
you should all try it. you will like it if you like fantasy stuff.

Steph, it was great hearing about your WOW experiences and a good move getting on board WOW all those years ago! It sounds like it has helped balance out some of the minuses. I am not sure that i like your husband as he has raised the bar awefully high for some of the other husbands out there!

i was gonna say something about verbal diarrhoea but that might sound a bit mean and i am not a mean person!

i have been playing on a US pve server for about 4 years and sometimes the latency sucks. i was talking to a RL friend earlier this week about moving to an oceanic server. will have to give that more thought. his whole family (wife and 2 kids) play. 4 computers side by side! We have 3 but my older son has lost interest for the time being. We each have a level 70 with pvp purples but don't do much raiding. I have turned into a bit of an AH junky as its hard to get groups together when i play during the evenings.

my older son loves to tell me how slow i am, so when you add that to the steroid shakes and the US lag then we are at a real disadvantage on Hyjal. but i might have to wait until the upgrade because i have too much gold to transfer atm - lol.

anyway - i might roll up a character on jube'thos to check out the AH there and say hello.

Steph, I understood everything you said even though most people who have never played would not.

I played for a very long time (Beta here) and actually just stopped playing again about 2 months ago. I think WoW, or any other type of game, can be a fine recreation, even for couples. For me, I just got bored with it. But I never let WoW affect my life, anymore so than making sure I watched my episodes of 24 did. Casually, but with intensity. There is a way to balance your life and any recreation you have.

Sweetmelody, I am really sorry that you have that going on. It's a true tragedy when any addiction goes that far. I thought you had mentioned counseling before in another thread (I could be wrong), but that might help. But I am sorry that it has gotten to that point.

Looks like there are plenty on either side of the coin.

work always has to come before wow! well mostly anyway. you are pretty lucky being able to work from home. i don't think i could - not disciplined enough.

not sure when but one of my kids rolled up wigglepuppy. not as cool as bloodwhor or stupidbanana but i'll use him.
