I also got a high sed rate on my blood test anyone know what that means?

I think it was 77 and the papersaid it was high but Imnot sure what normal is does anyone ? and do you know what this means ?

An elevated rate indicates inflammation.

hmm so what do you suggest if I am taking 6 asocol now ? give it more time or go back in ? The d part has been much better not perfect but allot better than before.

If Asacol was only recently introduced I would certainly wait a while longer, otherwise it may be advisable to speak to your doctor about dosages.

Ive been taking asocol about 6 weeks

The lower the number, the lower the inflammation. A couple yrs ago my test registered 4 & my gastro commented that it was an "excellent" result. RE Asacol: some members here have written that they find from experience they need to take 8 Asacol daily to keep from flaring. So, it could be that you need to increase your dosage, or take it in combo with Rowasa or Canasa if you have stubborn procto-sigmoid inflammation. Hang in there! / Old Hat (nearly 30 yrs with left-sided UC; currently on 3 Colazal daily for maintenance of remission)
